One person builds these. That is why there are two of them and not ten, and why neither one is in a hurry.
Neither app carries an advertising SDK, and neither one tracks you across other apps or websites. Gridbench goes further and has no analytics at all. Skein does have analytics — hosted in the EU, and switchable off in its Settings.
Both store the minimum a feature actually needs, and both let you delete everything from inside the app in one step. The privacy policies list every field by name, and every processor.
